Productive Background Music to Work, Study, and Meditate to

Apps & Tools

It’s a fact: music can help you be more productive.

And, to be fair, even without me referencing this Harvard Health Publication that discusses music’s health benefits, you probably already knew that.

Because as a society we’re constantly listening to music. We listen while we’re driving, exercising, studying, working… you get the idea.

But what you may not have thought about is that all music isn’t created equal.

For example, in what is known as The Mozart Effect, listening to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has been shown to enhance memory, cognition, and problem solving. But you would hardly listen to Mozart when amping yourself up to flex your quads and break the world record on the squat rack right?

Similarly, not all music is well suited to being productive.

A study published in the Journal of Consumer Research says that ambient music at a moderate level enhances performance on creative tasks, while other noise levels can hurt creativity.

Point being, you’d better make sure you’re listening to the right music while trying to work, study, meditate, or otherwise be productive.

Which is all just a drawn out way for me to say that I’ve compiled some of my favorite ambient-ish songs that I listen to while working and have posted them in a YouTube playlist for you to listen to.

And better yet, you can download the songs for yourself free!
